Days 1-2 Antigua-Pacaya National Park. We transfer from the airport in Guatemala City to the former colonial capital and World Heritage Site of Antigua for a stroll through its cobblestone streets. Hike to the top of Pacaya Volcano, peer down at the lava in the crater and enjoy spectacular views to the coast.

Days 3-4 Alaska-Totonicapan-Zunil Ridge-Lake Atitlan. Hike to stunning views of ten volcanoes and maybe spot the national bird, the colorful Resplendant Quetzal. Then bike down to the shores of stunning Lake Atitlan.

Day 5 Lake Atitlan-Cerro Tschutinmit. Kayak what many have called the most beautiful lake in the world and gaze at the surrounding volcanoes. Pass local fishermen, indigenous Mayan women doing their chores and men working the fields in their embroidered Santiago shorts. Hike the sacred peak of Cerro Tschutinmit and then visit the area's most important vegetable market.

Day 6 Chichicastenango Marketake Atitlan-Cerro de Oro. Begin with a boat ride and then hike to a spectacular lookout high above Lake Atitlan. Next we visit the world renowned craft market in Chichicastenango, with the opportunity to barter for textiles, masks and jewelry.
